Singing Sydney

This is a one man show performed by Mike Sparks. It traces the work of late Sydney Carter who died in March 2004. Sydney wrote such well know songs as 'When I Needed A Neighbour', 'Lord Of The Dance' and 'One More Step Along The World I Go'. Carter wrote songs for people such diverse people as Donald Swan, Martin Carthy and Sheila Hancock, and his songs are among the most popular for use in School Assemblies! The Show includes eighteen of Carter's songs.

"Singing Sydney" consists of two parts, each about 40 minutes long, and can be for performed in large or small venues. It is particularly suitable for Church based groups.


Mike has also recorded a CD, also titled "Singing Sydney", which includes 10 of Sydney Carter's songs.
